Dick Dale

Dick Dale is one of those musicians that has thoroughly influenced the history of rock 'n' roll. He is a living legend thanks to the song Misirlou, used by Tarantino for Pulp Fiction and became a cult hit. But Dick Dale is more than just his hit, he is the founder of the surf sound that he began to define in the fifties. Dale did not just get the nickname King of Surf Guitar, he single-handed founded the style and in comparison to his many followers he remained the most sensational and most technically gifted musician the genre ever brought forth.
Dale was one of the first to use Arab and Eastern European melodies and exotic scales in the popular American music. With its staccato and breakneck speed guitar playing and he became an example for many great ones, such as Jimi Hendrix. His work with Leo Fender changed the way guitar amplifiers were built and used. Fender even created an amplifier that responded to Dale's demanding pain and the thick guitar sound deafening loud. After a while, being ill, he is back on the road. Dale is still a true stage animal, and although already well into his seventies, he effortlessly manages to impress his audience with great shows that go through the whole range of surf with the intensity of a steamroller. A unique opportunity to admire this Grand Master in an intimate setting. Book your tickets now!
